My car just passed smog, the proper way with my current mods, lol.
I too live in California and have modded my car slowly over the past couple years since I've owned it. I bought my car bone stock down to the factory Ram Air Box and I think it's come a long way in terms of well balanced/quality mods.

You should start saving for a cam and all of the supporting components.
My car dyno'd 365 to the wheel with just my EPS custom specd cam 222/226 115+3, a lid, and catback and it still passes smog.

I DO NOT have headers, but I am looking into getting a set now that I don't have to worry about smog for 2 years.

Call Geoff at EPS and he can spec you a smog legal cam to pass the sniffer.

you can find used kits and parts and spend like $250 on a wet kit all the time if you stay on CL. Dry kits even cheaper.
,
I meant real damage people keep telling me I can burn pistons or even blow up my manifold or intake lid

because I was really interested in like a 50 shot into my intake lid since its stainless steel and has 2 nitrous bungs, are they right? Or is anything under 100 safe?

I love my cam. Primarily because i still get the same gas mileage when i stay out of it. My car also sounds more beastly when it barks through the GMMG.
Its also easy on the valvetrain because of the newer design on the cam lobes.

The 224 is also a great cam, i'm not sure if they redesigned the lobes. You can't go wrong either way. I drive my car 20k a year so it has to be easy on the valvetrain.

Call Geoff to pick his brain. Awesome advice and service.
