msd coils vs stock coils

Seriously. I've tried them on two cars because it was cheaper then stock and they've failed within 5k miles. On my Eclipse I went through 2 of them because I just swapped it with the store and it took only about 2 minutes to remove it. Finally just went back to anouther stock one after getting a refund.
I have their wires on my Eclipse too, and they seem to work fine. They do show some slight carbon burn buildup, but that just wipes off with a paper towel.

Unless you have a problem with stock coils, no coil upgrade is going to help you.
Not to fan the flames, as I sure as hell wouldn't buy them, but Tony Mamo himself is running them on his new build.....

Regarding power and drivability, I have seen and measured the improvements advertized by the company.
I am still using the 8245 MSD on my car.

LS2/3 style coils have more energy output compared to LS1/6 coils. The truck coils with the heat sink have the most energy and different dwell times. Very popular with the boosted crowd. You'll need to adjust the PCM to take full advantage of them.
On a stock engine, the truck coils won't do much.
LS1/6 coils have their own harnesses and plugs. All later coil packs have the LS2 style harnesses and plugs/pin outs.
Coil to valve cover mounting brackets also differ with the different styles of coils.
