Was it very noticable since your pushing a higher rpm down low? I know when my gears were installed (2.73 to 3.73) I really noticed a nice increase in exhaust volume since I'm pushing higher rpms. I'd like to give more revs down low through town without having to go neutral...rev...then back to D...
Make sense? In other words, is it louder now after the stall compared to before with the stock stall?

it will be different for everybody.. since every exhaust system has that sweet spot where the vibration, sound, and drone are all just perfect... I know mine is WOT of course or under a light load... coasting its pretty quiet I guess...

Of course I'm not refering to "cutout" difference loud. I mean since you are going to be pushing higher rpms down low, essentially your exhaust revs up more than before making it "louder" So if you have a loose stall your pushing more rpm at a slower speed which creates more exhaust flow=louder? Or am I just way off base here.

But generally speaking yes your RPM's are going to be higher with a 4K converter at the same rate of acceleration as they would be with a stock converter.

i have a yank ss 3600 with 1 3/4 arh headers with cats. stock daul daul catback. 3.23 gears. the car does seem louder because on a normal start the rpms move to about 3000rpms. i think i notice the sound more on take off then when im up to speed cruising. people think your going alot faster then you are with the stall because it is a little louder. my cars just a sunday driver but if it was a dd i would go with a ss 3200 stall.

This is the correct answer. The exhaust itself doesn't get any louder, but you're going to be running higher rpm's consistantly which means louder exhaust.

Im having a new tranny/stall put in right now.. Ill know what it does friday probably... Ive got dumped 3" dynomax so Ill have some noise for sure.. Ive got some videos before the stall to compare.... I doubt it will be dramatic but I do expect some increase... I do have some serious interior drone when cruising and put it under a little load.... hopefully this increase in rpm will cut down on drone but I expect it to be replaced with some other noise...
