Default OBX resonators reduce sound?

I've got to get headers and a y pipe (I was going to do it within the next few months, but I pretty much ripped my exhaust off today driving in an area I shouldn't have been with this car.)

I *could* get a catted y pipe, but I really don't want to spend that extra money. The OBX headers sold on ebay come with 'resonators' on the Y pipe - anybody know if they keep the sound down somewhat? I realize going to long tubes things are going to be louder, but I'd like to keep that down as much as possible.

thanks

I have the obx and resonators which are 'cats'. It is much louder than a car with a catted Y.

Does it help reduce noise? maybe, but don't expect much.

The obx merge is really good and I basically run a dumped y pipe with a dynomax bullet and love it. Lots of rasp above 4k...yes still love it.
