Default Ls1 Starter Problems. HELP!!!

i have a 2000 s10 with a 2004 gto ls1 in it. i had a batt in the stock spot (rt fender) and had no starting problems. moved it to the bed so i could make room for my intake and airbags. Now i am blowing the inline fuse (80A) everytime i turn on the key. I have talked to a few people and no one has any idea and no shop here will even touch it because it is custom. if anyone has pics of how the wires should go on the starter or any other help it would be great. thanks

What 80A inline fuse, what does it protect? Sounds like something is going to ground that shouldn't be...

it is just an 80A that i put inline when i added my sound system, it right after my batt, so it protects everything

Well there's your problem, the starter motor draws 250A! You certainly can't expect a single 80A fuse to protect everything. If you look inside the fusebox, there are numerous high-amp fuses that are designed to protect various "systems". Remove that 80A and run a straight 2 gauge or heavier, then put the 80A on your stereo.
