Default how to get rid of rasp in exhaust?

I have a 98 camaro m6 with LT headers ORY pipe (no cats) and straight pipes (I pipe goes into a Y pipe then to CME tips). It has a lot of rasp I'm the 2300-2600 rpm range. It is very very loud. I like the smooth deep tone of the exhaust other than the rasp what do I do to get rid of it? Thanks guys and gals!

Don't understand what a flowmaster y pipe merge is. I have a y pipe that comes from the headers into the I pipe into another y pipe into the cme tips.

The flowmaster merger is a better merger it will cut the rasp out. You might need 2 one for the ory and one for the y to the cme.

The flowmaster merge will clean up the sound & you can pick up a couple HP. But if you go this route I'd have a exhaust shop custom make you a y-pipe using the Flowmaster merge & I'd also use 3" off the collector & 4" for the i-pipe. You can buy a dual 3" inlet/4" outlet merge. If your gonna do it might as well get as much power out of it as you can.

many ppl use 4" over the axel then use a 3" reducer to fit the rear muffler OR you can get a 4" muffler and your done.but i think its useless to go down to 3" before the over axle bend...

I love my 4" exhaust. IMO it is one of the best sounding that I have heard. You can by the mufflex kit and it is a perfect fit, but it is pretty tight when it goes over the axle.

like said above a bullet muffler will get rid of it and will give a deeper tone to the exhaust. ive read that the flowmaster merge will work but some people said it didnt work as well for them. imho i think a flowmaster merge would be a great addition to the exhaust see if it works for ya if not throw a bullet in after it. i went strait to a bullet muffler and worked for me. Mine comes straight off of the ORY into the I pipe (I have an adapter for the 3" to 4" from there) and then it runs 4" all the way back to the magnaflow muffler. The 4" system from mufflex is also a hideaway pipe so no one can see what you are running. I'm at work now so can't get a video yet, but will post one asap. When i was stock with only the 4" it sounded great, but now that i have headers, i don't think there is a better sounding exhaust.

Most people use mufflers IMO. You should install cats. I have ARH with catted Y back to GMMG and it sounds amazing.

The flowmaster does nothing for rasp.... All it does help exhasut gasses escape better

Now what rid of 98% of my rasp with my GMMG was a 3" powerstick muffler.. And yes I have a FM merge as well
