Default Fixing FAST intake, is it worth it?

Been looking at getting a FAST intake and found one local on Craigslist. Has a broken vacuum port in the rear, its the small one right next to the booster port. Basically wondering if its possible to plastic weld or fill with some epoxy. I will post a picture when I am on a PC. It's basically cracked off at the base of the port, I know its hard to explain.

It's the LSXRT 102 intake, and since hood clearance isn't an issue and its a nice price off of a new one I figured I'd ask if anyone has done a fix like this before.

Have you seen pics of the issue? Would it be possible to clean it up and put in a new barb fitting?
Barb fittings can usually be had for less than $5.

Yea you could prolly drill it out and epoxy the fitting back in, or just epoxy the port back on. It really depends what he wants for it, but yea I'd say go for it.

Exactly, get a barb fitting. Had to do that on a past Fast 90. How much is the intake selling for? On a side note your gains would be nice if everything seals up/works properly since you have H/C on your set up.

He's selling the intake for $750 obo. I figure I can get $400 for the LS6 and P&P TB that I have now. It comes with seals and everything needed

I'm switching to a custom grind EPS cam that's 0.050 higher lift and 7/10 more duration, as well as getting my Yank restalled to 4k. I'm just wondering if this would be a cost effective mod at this point. I'm almost 100% positive the car will be too fast for the local track because they are strict with NHRA rules, so that plays in alot in my decision as well. It just seems too good to pass up...

I would tap it and install a barb. no more issues, no chance of the epoxy failing. I wouldn't be afraid of it.

I amazes me how many people break those off. It's a no brainer these need to be handled with caution right out the box. You would think FAST would have come up with a more stout product as well by now.
