i was planning on doing something similar to my loudmouth, mine is not factory so i can just take my muffler off, i have the LM2 right now but its still to loud and raspy. i have a stock y pipe and no headers. Im thinking magnaflow has a muffler that can just simply repalce my LM2 one without cutting and welding, if anyone knows let me know, its that or all new exhaust setup

If you have the SLP system that had a removable resonator, the 14419 is pretty much a plug and play, set and clamp muffler. You "may" have to trim an inch or so off either your pipes or your muffler's flared ends, but it'll just clamp in place.

You have lm2 with manifolds, cats and stock y pipe and it is raspy?

Looks good. I've been debating swapping out the LM1 resonator for a Borla or Magnaflow.

Do it and don't look back. On cold start-up, let alone cruising, I was amazed at the "tone" the car had. Made me kick myself for even thinking the LM1 resonator sounded good.

Some people can deal with it, I made it about a month or so before replacing the resonator. And still wasn't happy until I replaced the LM all together. Check back in a few weeks

It could be raspy from my cats being gutted, its not to raspy or nothing, im just picky. I just think its to loud for highway driving, it starts to get to loud that my wife has to wear earplugs to ride in it.

It still shouldnt be loud. I guess my def of loud is cammed / open long tubes. Maybe thats why I think everything else is tame.

Get a sound clip made yet? I am on the border of ordering a muffler to replace mine, and ls1sounds doesn't have any clips of a magnamouth. I tried playing the borlamouth as a comparison but those wouldn't play either!

FYI, don't forget the Dynomax #24248(3" in/out, 18" case, 4" dia., in 409 stainless steel) it another very good option to go in the I-pipe location.

Fail on the sound-clip.

I spent my time home replacing both both upper control arms (ball joints included), lower ball joints, and tie rid ends on the Escalade, including 4 new tires and alignment.

Then went to take the Camaro in for an alignment, and get told my outer tie rods and upper ball joints were shot.

Sorry guys. On the rig for the next 2 weeks as well.

The only thing I can say, is where the LM1 is just LOUD, the MagnaMouth is still loud"ish" but has tone. The bass is the best part.
