Does your ported throttlebody have JB weld on the bottom?
Does your ported throttlebody have JB weld on the bottom? I have a throttlebody that has been ported, it was opened up where it broke through on the bottom and was JB welded up. Also has the IAC ports JB welded and smoothed(I know this is common).
Also has a different plate in it.

when I got my stocker back from porting I noticed a super tiny pinhole where they broke through. I then proceded to remove the rest of the paper thin metal until a stronger thicker edge was available. I added a glob of jb on the outside, let it dry, and then sanded the inside smooth. Has lasted 5+ years so far.
I remember people jb welding the top, but read somewhere that someones jb job broke off and went into the engine. I opted not to do this. Added risk to me wasn't worth it.
Different throttle blade, I haven't heard of anyone making different ones for a stock tb.

I JB'd my IAC and PCV ports when I home-ported my
stocker.
Had to drill the IAC port larger, later, because it was
making idle surge from being too choked off (stale
howTo Internet advice was 3/16" bore, went to 3/8
if I recall).
The only thing on the bottom is the hot water line.
If somebody broke into that, that'd be some pretty
aggressive hogging. I just cut the whole thing off
(boss and nipples) and was nowhere near the main
bore. So I see no good reason for epoxy on the
bottom, other than somebody screwed up and sold
you their mistake.

I would go ahead and dig the jb weld outta the ports for the pcv and iac area...its already separating from the aluminum and could break off and end up sucked into your engine. It looks like the porter went through the bottom and had to jb weld the holes up then smooth it all back out. There is a possibility the other sections of jb weld were either back casting areas like pitting, or some other deformity, or he fucked up and had to fix it.

It's cast really thin in a few areas, I usually put epoxy in those areas before I even start porting just for extra strength. You can't truly take the hump out of it without almost breaking through, sometimes it happens.

After seeing that picture, I'd toss that in the trash. That's messy, done incorrectly, and I wouldn't trust it. Also looks like someone drilled the TB plate hole bigger or installed a different plate altogether. All in all, looks like some else's mistake that they sold off.
