Slp header vs texas speed performance headers

Default Slp header vs texas speed performance headers

I am looking at slp longtube headers and tsp longtube headers, they will be used with an off road y pipe and corsa catback. They are going on my 2000 Trans Am Ws6. The tsp are stainless and 1 7/8 and the slp are jet coated and 1 3/4 because slp doesn't make 1 7/8 headers. Slp set up retails at $1400 and tsp set up retails at $700. What are your opinions? I am getting slp for just as cheap or cheaper than tsp.

From what I have read on here, SLP headers are garbage. Go with the TSP. They make a good product and it's stainless.

If those SLP's were half the price of the TSP's, I'd STILL tell you to get the TSP's. No questions here. Stainless + half the price = winning

Depends what version of the slp headers. If they are the new ones and cheaper than tsp I would go for it. Old version I paid $250 for and honestly would rather have saved and bought kooks. Tsp headers weren't available at the time.

Between the two, TSP, 100% hands down. If you wanted to throw $1,000+ into headers and an ORY, look at Kook's and ARH.

Default SLP vs. TSP longtube headers

I can tell you my 1st hand experience w/ SLP long tube headers & CORSA cat-back as that was my 1st aftermarket exhaust set-up. As for fit & finish , I was Impressed by the SLP LT's. The flanges were thick and straight and the ceramic coating was beautiful. However as far as overall design (unless they have changed it) the SLP's have some short commings. Mine where advertised as tuned-length headers and as such they seemed to hang the lowest of the LT's available at that time, Especially the passenger side, where the prinaries gather together for the collector turn out to the right almost 90* then turn back toward the rear. This is the point which likes to scrape on obsticals too high for my lowered car (1.5"). If your car is still at stock ride height, this may not be too much an issue, but for me, I could see a primary getting bent or crushed. I also intalled their catted Y-pipe whixh is a full 3" and matted up with my CORSA cat-back w/o any issues.
