Get a lingenfelt timing/launch controller. I have on and it is awesome! One of the coolest things I have bought. I use it to controll timing for my nitrous, but the 2-step on it is badass and it is simple as hell to install. Took me about 10 mins tops. It is $270 on ebay new

The lingenfelter is as simple as it gets. They even have the wires so you just plug them into each other so there is no crimping or anything needed. It is all plug and play

So from what im r red ading about it it doesnt have the total adjustability like a regular 2-step? And you have to regulate the rpms using the stick computer?

I'm not sure on that. I can set my rpm on it at w.e rpm I want it to hold it at and it will do it. You set what rpm you want it to hold it at on the lingenfelter box. You can mount it in your car or w.e. I'm not sure how the msd one works though?

The msd one has a dial on the back so you can quick adjust it on the fly so if your at the track. Turn it up or down depending on the needs.

Same thing pretty much on the lingenfelter. It comes with a lingenfelter screwdriver to adjust it. Takes 5 seconds tops. It's just a little dial on there you turn it to w/e you want

Does the msd 2-step come with everything you need to hook it up?

You will need one piece of wire and a switch / button / whatever you plan to use to activate it...

It is plug and play into the coil harnesses, then you just supply 12V or a ground to it to activate..

The ones we tried were junk. They simply would not work. I would make damn sure yours is actually pulling the timing you think it is....

Do you have the wire color and # where you picked up the clutch signal?

Yes, we are in violant agreement.

I am curious, do you not lauch at your converter's stall speed since you have a trans brake? Educate me please!
My stall speed is 4000 rpm. My 2step is is set at 3200rpm. My electronic boost controller is set to 10 psi during launch. I run a 10.5 inch tire . At times if I launch at stall speed I can either spin the tires or put the car on the bumper.

So I adjust rpm at launch to provide a consistent launch. Also saves a little transmission fluid wear by not launching off the stall every time.

Nice ... I follow now. I guess my mind is still "old school" .... NA, stall, trans brake and launch. "New school" is all about nitrous, nitrous stages and boost control. I must say, though, "new school" is how we have Outlaw cars running the 1/8 in the mid-4's and heading to the low-4's and street cars running the 1/4 in the 6's.
