:shakes head:

There he goes again, ladies and gentlemen. Modding. De-modding. Modding.

So who is worse, Jason99T/A or Chris?

Should we make a poll?

Have fun with the new parts, Chris, I definitely wanna see pics of those new headers. I tend to wonder how I'd do with some bigger tubes.

hehehe

It's ok I haven't changed headers yet, and my old revlok is toast.

I probably should have kept the 12 bolt but I needed to free up cash at the time. (Had to put 25K down on our new house!!) OUCH!

Im curious as to why you bought the headers and then are going to reduce them down to 3" even though it has a 3.5" collector? I run a full 3.5 X system off of mine dumped before the axles. My cam only setup picked up 40 in the curve over my Hooker LT's and 3" X system previously. One thing i have learned, YOU CANT OVER EXHAUST and LS1. Re-think your exhaust setup before finalizing with your hill billy cutouts.

hehe thanks for the advice

BUT...

I drive the car on the street and to the track. a dual 3.5 inch system isn't realistic for me and I need noise control. (Thus the muffler and the dual cutouts in the YPipe)

If I had a race car I would still likely use the reducer cones off the 3.5 merges and then 3 inch extensions from there. Most people I have seen with stepped or 1 7/8 headers with 3.5 inch collectors actually pick up more power under the curve with the reducer to 3 inch with extensions. What heads/cam are you running?

thanks,
Chris

First things first, my car is a daily driver. It has a small cam in it (227/234 579/581 116lsa) and stock heads.

If they are picking up power with the 3.5"-3" reducer cones they may not have a true merge collector on the their headers. Thats what the reducers are acting in a sense as a merge to produce more power. Edelbrocks have a nice merge on them hence why the use of 3.5" full exhaust was used. The power was amazingly different in the curve and the car felt like it too. Hopefully some of this makes sense to you and you too can learn from it as I did. Theres always someone out there that is faster or knows more. Im just glad I can share what my personal experience was with it.
