Header removal

Header removal I just did heads/cam on my camaro and the passenger side header is leaking now. I noticed while they were unhooked from the heads that one of the ports wasn't a smooth surface. More than likely I'm going to have to completely remove them and either replace them or a have a machine shop mill them. If I'm lucky I'll be able to flat file it true enough to seal and use a paper gasket but anyway. My question is what exactly will need to be removed to get the headers out. AIR, EGR is all ready deleted and the headers have the 3 bolt collectors and is dumped so exhaust removal isn't a problem. What else needs to be taken off other than the a/c compressor slid forward and the steering shaft removed? I'm going to go ahead and do motor mounts since the headers are more than likely coming off anyway. Thanks

WAIT!! don't tear it down yet. flat file first, and see . american racing headers sells grafite inpregnated header gaskets. i've reused mine with NO leaks, very forgiving. hope this helps. look for the simple solutions first. oh no now i'm being profound again . hope this tidbit helps. call ARH great people to deal with. good luck.

Yea thats what I don't understand. The headers are clearly uneven, so I don't understand how they sealed before. Well, I take that back, before they had paper gaskets and I replaced them with MLS gaskets. They're off now. I'm going to take them to a machine shop and see if they can resurface them.
