Catalyst inefficiency theory
Most posts I see say buy a new cat or its yime to buy longtubes.
I dont want to invest the money on LT/ORY/CB just yet.
Theory: Since the rear O2's are telling the car there is a problem with the cat, could I simply tune out the rear O2's
Also I want to tune out of any EGR/AIR codes that could pop up and delete the skip shift.
I figure this could be done for a few hundred bucks instead of the alternative of a complete exhaust system. Or a 400 cat from GM.
Thoughts???
Thanks Guys!

I was in the same predicament that you were in last year, I ended up spending $350 on an O/R Y that goes to the stock manifolds and then tuned the rear O2's out. I think the cheaper alternative would have been to just gut the cats, then have the rear O2's tuned out.
they basically just reduce exhaust gasses to the rear o2 sensors which makes the PCM believe the cats are working properly. i've been doing it this way for years.

you actually have to make sure they will screw together completely before putting it all together, sometimes you have to use 2 on each o2 with one completely drilled out. it'll make sense once you see what a non fouler is.
