Default Cut out worth it?

I'm installing my ARH LT's, ORY, and Magnaflow catback this week and was thinking about running a single cut out after the Y. Would I get any real gains from this, or would I just be wasting time and money?

its a waist you gain some noise more then power, the best place to put cut outs is right after the headers to benefit anything.

Alot of misguiding in this post.

YES cutouts are worth it.

A member on here picked up 2mph in the 1/4 just by adding an E cutout to his completely stock exhaust (headers, y pipe, catback)

Do some research someone dropped there flowmaster muffler and picked up like 40whp lol those things are restrictive.

Edit: Heres some proof as too how restrictive a flowmaster can be

Gains power wise would be very minimal. You'd be lucky to see 3rwh if that. If you want it to be loud, then I guess you would be happy. Personally, I would only run one myself if it had a bump stick in it. Your money would be better spent on some UD Pulleys. Better gains to be had.

Yes they are worth it.

The best place to put the cut out is in the I pipe.

im in the 50/50 crowd on this. i had SLP true LTs kit with cats and the magnaflow cat back. i put a QTP cutout on right before the bend over the axle. from caped to un-caped i only gain like .2-ish in the 1/4 and maybe 1-2 mph. but got a lot more heads turning when i had the cap off crusing around my small town

I picked up 17rwh & 14rwt on my LT1 AI H/C A4.

This coming Wednesday I'm putting on a 3 inch DMH electric w/ a new Texas Speed Stainless ORY on the Bird. I will post up the dyno results once I get some #'s.

Here is a sound clip on the LT1 http://www.streetfire.net/video/adva...-cu_694817.htm

Only 2 tenths and 1-2mph? That's huge for just uncapping a cutout.

Please do a bit of research and educate yourself. Your post surely was a "waist". (Correction: its WASTE)

I love mine but I have the adjustable Borla and I installed it where you stick the plates. Its nice to close it off when I pick the kids up from school and then crack it open it up a bit when I am parking lot pimping, lol.

Lots of good info, but nothing really clear. I'm sure it would pick up well off of stock set ups, catted Y's, or restrictive exhausts, but I don't think I'd pick up much with my set up. Car is SUPPOSED to have a small cam, but 90% of the **** I was told that was done to the car when I bought it turned out to be BS. That probably is to.

Well damn !! I should have been gotten one . For the price and et/mph gains, a cut-out is a worth while mod for the street/strip guy .
