the wix, and black gasket purolater, and boush. or the red gasket fram fits fine with a SLP lid. New some filters are a little taller or more gasket, and your old one gets compressed so you think the new one is that much thicker. But its tight from the lid not sliding back all the way, or its draging/sticking pn the seal and it will roll back the gasket and that makes the clips feel a lot tighter to clip down. (the lid is not instaled back all the way and bound up)

But on a new filter a HUGE help is to take a little oil,wd40,greese, VERY little, so you cant even see it. Just put a little lube on the filter gasket top edge with you finger. So the lid slides back and over the filter easy how it wants to be.

Ty for that great tip. What vehicle or part # do I search for to fit the slp box? The stock size filter is way too small.

are you missing the filter tray? the lower sqare frame that sits in the lower airbox/rad holder. that the filter fits inside the tray.

I'm running a Fram paper filter with the SLP lid, and it's a tight fit, but it' fits with no problems.

The problem is I just realized I am an idiot. I ordered parts from Rock Auto for both of my cars in the same order and the filter is for my 01 maxima. I guess thats why it doesn't work lol.

I am about to ditch my K&N for a Purolator filter...

unless someone makes a performance filter that doesnt require oiling.

I consider the Wix filter high performance:

you cant just count the pleats and use that, more pleats could shroud themselves and restrict more. You have to test it. high performance is going to be subjective like all filters. More flow will have less filtration, better filtration will flow less. you find that testing the air filters on a flowbench, and oil anailasist with small participial contaminants
