Default Power steering pump removal/install guide?

My pump seems to have a slow leak. The leak screwed up my alternator. Can someone point me to a site that shows how to remove it so I can inspect for leaks. And if anyone knows the price to replace that would be helpful.

That pic shows how to remove the entire pump, but I need to get the pulley off first to make it some much easier. Does anyone know what tool to put in?

I am going to replace the seals.

There are 2 13mm bolts that hold the pump to that bracket behind the pulley, IMO they are much easier to get to.

Yeah I removed the pump itself off of the braket. Took the pulley off witha puller I borrowed from autozone.

umm.. if you take out the 2 bolts I'm talking about, you do not have to remove the pulley.

My autozone pulley work perfect today. Also, Wilwaxu is correct - if you can get a wrench behind the pulley you can remove the pump without having to remove the pulley.

It is possible to get the wrench back there. I had to do it when tearing down my motor and while you can only get in a small turn it is possible to do it and IMO probably easier than removing the pulley.

You can work the 3 bolts holding the entire bracket if you can't get the pulley off or if you get the pulley off go for the bolts in the front to take the pump off the bracket. The puller was a little confusing at first but I got it to work. I actually PMed someone else who used it and he told me what to do.

how do you get it back on then? Wouldn’t it be terribly difficult to thread those bolts back in with the pulley in the way ?

It's a special kind of pulley puller that grips the groove on the snout of the pulley. I think you can rent it from AutoZone, OEM Tools 27031. The same tool can press the pulley back on.
