I ported my own...wasn't all that hard, just time consuming. I probably put a good 8 hours into it for my first time. I got 20 rwhp off a FAST 92 so I must have done something right.

Can you do it? Absolutely? Will be be Mamo quality, most definitely not. Is it worth the price he charges? To some yes, to some no.

It is all what you want out of the combo and your budget.

Is Veng. as good or better than Tony? Probably not, are they a viable option for the money, absolutely. Tony is the best and he charges accordingly.

I'm NOT putting Veng down AT ALL... I had a Veng ported 90 myself and was VERY VERY pleased with the gains (34Rwhp IIRC over an ls1 intake with stock 98 heads). Too many perfect setups ported by Mamo to argue it though IMO.

Mamo is the best, I wouldn't use him because I'm a tight ***. LOL

Both are top notch quality that stand behind their work.... That is about as far as this thread should go.

You start a new **** storm thread about a highly touchy subject (that the search feature would have given you all your answers) only to admit your a tight azz and wouldn't pay to have it done

Thats seriously weak

And Mamo ftw for what its worth, Ive seen "ported intakes" from numerous shops and none of them compare. Thats where to send your money when your pry that wallet from your jeans!

Look for a used one, every now and then you can catch one for sale. Guys demodding their car for a sale, changing combos, lots of reasons.

That's pretty steep for an intake that costs $1000 as it is.

A lot of time though doing the work, I'm sure.

Ive seen Phil at AI reccomend several times to run a FAST unported. I know they do offer the service though, how good is it? Who knows. $500 for a port job is steep when you factor in the FAST, TB, fuel rails, and port will cost just as much or more than your H/C package itself..

Got to also consider the 1000s of hrs tony has in perfecting his port job, btwn the fine tuning on ports to flow bench times, this is the case of "u get what u paid for". If u don't want to pay to play, guess just sit back and watch
