Default Exhaust Rattle?

Okay so on my formula I started hearing this funny noise.
I only hear it in reverse or sometimes idling.
When I reverse it sounds like something scraping on the ground.
(Nothing is scraping, I checked numerous times and had my buddy check)
I had my brother's girlfriend's dad (lol) look at it (he owns a shop) and he said it is probably my catalytic converter.
Is this true?
I know it is hard to give an answer because you cannot hear it in person but it sounds awful
What would be a good solution to this?
Should I get a LM exhaust and take off the cats?
Has this happened to anyone else?

One more quick question,
What is a better order to upgrade your car.
Headers and ory then exhaust.
Or exhaust and then headers and ory?
Thank you.

The catalyst "brick" has prolly broken into pieces. On my Dakota, I removed the converter and finished busting it into small enough chunks to remove it all, then put the empty converter back on. I get a CEL a few times a year now, but just clear it with a tool...
