Default What would no muffler sound like?

How terrible would that sound on a stock setup? This is probably a terrible question and im probably going to be looked upon as retarded but its more of a hypothetical question than a "im about to go cut off my muffler because im to broke to buy a real catback" kinda question..
Anybody ever done it, known anybody thats done it, etc?
Thanks,
Austin.

Would there be any performance gains? Seeing as to how there would be less restriction..

I rode across town without my stock muffler when getting my GMMG installed (due to difficulties with tools...don't ask). It doesn't sound as bad as you might think. It's got a low rumble to it, but it doesn't sound like a "performance" exhaust.

I bought a 2000 SS stock manifolds, and cats with no muffler but someone had also got rid of the flat spots and I thought it sounded good.

Actually sounds good. All the people that say it sounds like **** hasn't tried it. Its a cheap alternative to a catback. Of course its not going to net the same gains though.

I had a 80 series Chokemaster that I took my torches and cut out all the baffles inside.
Sounded great on a stock cubed engine with Mac mid length headers. And it really made a difference on performance above 3500 rpm. Though once the cubes were increased to 402, it became a lil raspy, LOL...
