Decided on an exhaust!! SEE POST 14 AND 40!!! 3" TD's over axle, mandrel bent.
Ok heres my deal, i recently install a MWC 9" and full suspension, coil overs on all 4 corners. I have a Texas-speed STYLE true dual exhaust i had made for it on the cheap. its 3" and it looks like they made the bends in the tubing with a hammer. It looks like ****. but for $200 i didnt care, and it was supposed to be temporary...well 1.5 years later, im ready for a new system lol. Im stuck between the Bassani 2.5" true dual system or a Y-pipe/catback (magnaflow) setup with an E-cut out.. 2 reasons im changing my exhaust.. 1. its so damn LOUD, im cammed with no cats and a blower and its ridiculous. 2. My exhaust now scrapes like crazy, and i cringe every time it hits the ground. I dont wanna lose any power, thats why i was looking at the bassani setup, plus the sound of true duals is awesome. But at the same time, im wondering if clearance will be an issue with this system since the x-pipe is right under my driveshaft safety loop/crossbrace. What would you guys recommend? How loud is a magnaflow on a cam car? i know they have a reputation for being quiet. any other suggestions? trying to stay under $8-900 too...

I had a tsp ory with a magnaflow catback on my ms4 car, it was alot quiter, sounded good but doesnt even come close to sounding as good as duals but i did like it,would be perfect for a dd, but i went with tsp duals after, i would stick with duals, run them to the back, thats what im doing now, will tone it down alot, will kill alot of drone also, if ya wanted more mellow magnaflow bullets sound good, i will never put a y pipe back on my car, there was a sotp feel first ride with the duals,i wouldnt wanna lose the performance gain

thats what i was thinking too, buy a mandrel bent exhaust piping kit and just have it custom fabbed. since im a blower car, i have a feeling id lose quite a bit. I wonder if there would be a preformance difference between 3" mandrel and 2.5" mandrel duals? I really like that bassani, and it sounds good. Mandrel exhaust tubing kit is like $400, corsa clones are $160, $250 labor and whatever the mufflers cost, or i could just use my dynomax bullets. I think itd sound better/quieter if i was just pointed out the back and away from the car vs it echoing off the ground and under the car ya know? Also, on that bassani, im not sure it will work with my MWC rear... heres the PDF, im not sure that S-pipe would work with mine, the back brace on the 9" might b in the way...

looking at the bassani, it looks like the X-pipe will rub. it would sit directly under my crossbrace/DSL, and thats exactly where mine scrapes now.... i may not have a choice but do a Y-pipe/cat back....Unless i have one custom made... sucks........................................

Im seriously considering the magnaflow catback with a 3" ORY .... I love true duals but i don't wanna spend $800+on exhaust right now....i have a friend buying mine off me $150, so with the cutback and y pipe, id have about $500 in it. My only concern is will this cat back choke my combo?

True duals will generally always give the most performance, but going with a good quality y-pipe/catback will only lose a couple ponies (supposedly). Could always install a cutout in the catback.

I wouldnt run anything less than 3 inch duals on that combo. If you bought a universal x pipe kit from Summit racing and some 3 inch Magnaflow bullets it should be ok on volume and selling your current duals should pay for labor

I've been lookin at the universal kits. Flowmaster makes a "u-fit" kit too i have a guy who says he can do it he said if i wanted, he can run 3" out the back in the shop with his tubing, its just not Manuel bent. How much power would ya lose going that way with no Manuel bends?

As far as sound (with a y-pipe) GMMG can not be beat imo. It's a "straight through" design and looks sick under the car too. I also used the SLP bullet style resonator to help with the rasp of the long tubes. I get compliments all the time on the looks/sound. Could be in your budget if you don't get the tips ($150.00 last I saw). I'll try to get a sound clip loaded up in the next day or so.

well, i pulled the trigger. I went and talked to my exhaust man and he said he wouldnt have trouble building my exhaust. So im doing the Mandrel bent 3" true dual set up, over the axle, through some 3.5" x 16" long round Bassani race mufflers with a set of 3"in/4"out Corsa clone tips. hopefully she sounds good. my main gal was to free up some ground clearance and quiet it down a little bit, at least interior noise. Should start the install process next week. I gotta wait for my parts to come in. Ill post pics later

Were you asking me? I love it. I also have the Tick MC plus the lightweight flywheel. It's a little stiff for some but I preferr it. It's a little grabby when I first start driving until it warms up but after about 5 miles its great!
The combination solved all of my sticking clutches issues and I dont have any complaints about the lightweight flywheel on the street or getting out of the hole. Plus the stage 3 can handle anything my maggie can throw at it.
I definitely recommend Monster.
