Default removing ac before tuning questions

I think I might have my ac removed before I get my car tuned. Will anything have to be changed with the belt system or can it just be removed. I've never did this kind of work before. I never use it anyway so will it be worth on keeping the car running cooler or squeezing out a couple extra ponies?

Nope, assuming you have an LS1, the AC has a dedicated belt.

Take off the serpentine belt, and remove the AC belt.. Or you can just cut the AC belt. Pulling the AC cleans up a TON of room, and saves a good amount of weight in just the compressor alone.

Pulling the a/c is more a weight saving mod IMO, the compressor disengages based on tps and rpm, so it turns into just another free spinning pulley when at wot.

My cars not a dd and I don't use it when I do drive it so I figured it would save a little weight and help the car run cooler especially when I put the SSRA on there and a tranny cooler for a stall

I actually dd mine with no ac. I also have a rather large trans cooler mounted where my condensor would have been.

I never use the ac. Even with the ac gone I'm still gonna go with the ac version of the SSRA to make sure there's plenty of breathing room for the radiator and for a trans cooler when I get a stall
