HELP BBK SSI intake fitment
Well I have a '00 Ws6 and I've been trying to install a bbk ssi intake but when mounting it, it won't sit flush on the heads. It seems to be far enough back and the intake bolts line up, MAP sensor is outta the way, and vacuum line is tucked back but the rear ports have about a 1/4 inch gap from the heads on either side. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows what it is?? Or I could just be retarded...any help, please.

You need a set(2 ea) of low profile button head bolts to replace the L & R rear valley cover bolts. You can also grind down the factory bolt heads, but you need to make sure you leave enough of the heads so you can loosen/tighten them. You also might have interference with the steam tubes going under the intake. Check by removing the two rear valley cover bolts and then seeing if the intake drops down like it should, if it doesn't then you'll also need the LS6 rear steam block-offs and and front steam tube.

Like 99Blu said, you need to swap the valley cover bolts with button head bolts. I would just do all of them while you're there. And you'll also need the LS6 rear coolant block offs and front steam pipe. I'm pretty sure the stock LS1 steam pipe will not fit under the BBK.
It should sit perfect on the heads after doing those two things.

Thanks for the info guys, its always appreciated! Ya I switched the rear most passenger bolt because that's what the installation guide said... So when I get home ill try switching the the other bolts and hopefully she'll sit nicely. Worst case scenario do you guys know where to get the Ls6 rear coolant block off and steam pipe??

low pro valley bolts. I just took my stock bolts to the hardware store and told them what i needed. i cut my steam vents in the rear, and connected them with a piece of hose. dont block them off. A lot of guys do, but for me, since im FI, i need those rear cylinders cool. #7 failure can be directly related to blocking off the rear ports. Or do like im going to do, and buy the Kurt urban vent system.
