Default ARH Headers ?

So Im strongly considering arh headers but my question is to the guys who have them. Has anyone had problems with the y pipe banging the floor board either with the ory or catted y pipe. Now I know everyone says to do motor mounts but plain and simple I just don't want to. I feel that if the oem pipe didn't bang a set of well engineered pipes shouldn't either. I heard that arh flattens a section of there y pipe like the oem to prevent this problem and if so that's great! So anyone running this setup please share your expierence. Also arh if your out there please chime in aswell. Thanks

For the money they ask, there sure as heck shouldn't be any fittment issues. You should look into TSP's new 1-7/8 SS LT's & ORY. You'd save yourself hundreds and their product is top notch.

My ARH's fit great, I also got their high flow cats and Y-pipe. I don't have any banging but I did do MM's also.

I had them on my 01 NBM Z/28. They are great headers, fit and finish wise, far better than the QTP LTs I pulled off. You will get a banging y-pipe without upgraded motor mounts, would probably do a poly trans mount as well. That being said, would do the TSP 1 7/8 LTs in heartbeat, they look top notch, made from SS and you cannot beat that price!

I have ARH 1-7/8" LT's and their ORY. I had no banging with the stock y-pipe and rubber MM's but I replaced the MM's with poly during the header install.

No, my ARH y-pipe doesn't bang at all.

So you experienced the y pipe banging with your ARH's and stock mm's?

honestly the arh headers are top notch, i love the sound they make and the quality is great. i do unfortunately have a banging y pipe so what i did was take header wrap and wrap the y pipe in the 1 area where it hits and now its all snug and doesnt move

Arh are nice headers but there's no beating the price of the tsp lt/ory. I may be wrong but the arh cost more than the tsp combo and that doesn't include the arh y pipe.

Ok that's what I was looking for some honest advice. Is your y pipe with or without cats? Also that's a good idea to wrap the area with header wrap

YES! I had poly mounts sitting in the garage, but got lazy during the header install. For the record, the QTP LTs I took off banged as well, but the ARHs fit so much better I thought I would get away with it. Long story short I ended up putting the poly MMs on and issue was resolved.

EDIT: I had the ARH catted y-pipe as well.

I have ARH headers with poly motor mounts and no y-pipe banging. These are high quality headers that fit great. They are expensive, but you get what you paid for. I would buy them again if I was in the market for headers.

I agree that polys are a great upgrade. But my thought is that for the price I'm gonna be spending on these headers there should be no problem with stock mounts. Now if I was throwing in eBay headers or pacesetters that's a different story

I have no banging, had no install problems, while doing it in 30 degree weather while snowing under a open carport. I have the ARH with their catted Y with my stock mounts. I have no complaints about ARH, best thing I did was buying these headers. Yes I saved up and glad I did.

I get what you're saying here but why would you even want stock mounts? A performance car should have quality engine mounts. I'm saying why would the need to upgrade $50 mounts make or break wanting to buy their headers? And talking about stock y pipes not banging, look how flat they are.

You should definitely upgrade your motor mounts while you have the room.

The ARH headers and y are the best money can buy PERIOD. Look, you got what you got in terms of space from the floor of the car to the ground. Trust me, its not much.

Jeez....TSP's are so much cheaper than ARH.....why????

Theres no way the ARH headers are gonna make any more power......is there some reason the ARH's are so much more money than TSP?

Too bad TSP doesn't make 2".....thats what I need. Probably go with Kooks 2".
