Default PCV System Catch Can?

Has anyone done a PCV Catch Can on their LS1? I blew out the housing for the PCV valve while on the DYNO a month ago and had to make up my own system as GM wanted $120 for the new system and I don't want to put an LS6 Intake and Valley Cover on yet as I have other projects and I want to keep the car on the road for this season with out having do any time consuming projects.

Cause for the blow out

Noob question, why would you need the pcv valve if you have a catch can?

Don't believe that you do need a PCV valve, however I am looking at making a swap and was curious what has worked for others.

It is in tacked. I have to replace the OPSU as that doesn't hold up to the heat cycles. I figured if I am taking the intake off, I might as well go bigger and make some decent upgrades while I'm in there.

Great stuff! Thanks for the insight! I know what my weekend project will be once I get a catch can ordered!
