Default Water Neck and Thermostat Housing Options

I have 2 questions that I have searched around and seen mixed responses.

1) What are my options for the thermostat housing instead of the 9 oclock position I need something in the 6pm (down) position.

I would also like to plug those holes instead of running a 90 degree hose as you can see in the picture. What have other guys done.

2) On the upper water neck I want to spin it to point the right instead of the left. See below picture. Can you heat up the base and just twist it with a wrench or something. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

S&P, their web is www.hotrodlane.cc

Or tap them for 3/8" and 1/2" NPT and install plugs.

Good luck saving it, there's prolly a way to move it w/o destroying it, but I haven't found it yet...
