Default Cut Out

Alrighty, so i was considering that since my exhaust is off and in peices, that i would add a cut out right after my ORY

Now, I have driven the car and i dont like the sound of it except at idle
and budget is nice too lol

so i was considering getting a manual cut out. summit and jegs is about $40 and i figure it would help on the dyno tune and the strip especially when i go boost

now. i think i know what everyone will say:

1. its a PITA to crawl under and open/close the cut out
2. its funner to open them up when a mustang rolls up and throw a rev and you can return the favor

but.. i figured i would ask for your opinions since thats the reason for the site.

What is your opinion and why?

I love my cutout. In my case, I spent the money and got an electric cutout. However, looking back, the only time I closed it was when I went to get my Inspection done. In retrospect, I guess I could have saved the $150 bucks and not got the electric valve. Oh well.

I like my DMH cutout. You'll find that many have had success with the other brands as well. There are even a few eBay and summitracing options that have been popping up on this forum lately.

DMH for sure, mine was manual but mine was in a way were i didnt jack the car up at all just reach under tightened the wing nuts to close it and i was done took me 2-3 minutes. If you dont mind driving around with it open all the time or closed most of the time, mine was always open, i hated it closed it was way too quiet for me. DMH is good to go mild to wild on the fly.

I liked my DMH but my new one is a race ready and its higher quality than the DMH I had. ALso had a qtp and it literally fell apart on me. Twice. Avoid QTP.

I have the QTP and haven't had any issues. But I would definitely go electric as open headers can get old on long interstate rides and at times when you're trying to be a little less conspicuous.

My QTP never failed either. I opened & closed it a lot too.

I ordered a DMH on May 15th I didn't get it until June 8th. Hopefully this thing never breaks might taken even longer to get it replaced.

Definitely get an electric cutout over manual.
