Replace Flowmaster muffler?

Replace Flowmaster muffler?
Hey guys,
Running TSP 1 7/8" long tubes to their off-road y-pipe. Flowmaster catback with a 3" QTP cutout welded into the intermediate pipe. I'm ready to replace the Flowmaster muffler however I'd like to avoid buying a brand new catback + cutout etc.
I've been interested in the Hooker and Magnaflow mufflers. Anyone simply swapped one of them in place of the Flowmaster muffler? Looks like the sizing is a bit different and the connections (the Hooker has a 3-bolt flange on the inlet) are different too. Anyone have an idea of how to make it work in a manner cheaper than simply buying the whole new catback?

IMO, your best option is a Dynomax Ultra Flo #17536, it has 3" outlets like the FM muffler and is very close in size to the FM80 used in the cat-back. It won't take much to make it work you'll just have to re-adjust the muffler and tail pipes. Sound is similar to the magnaflow, and flows just as good.
BTW, Magnaflow doesn't offer dual 3" exits, only 2.5" exits.

Thanks for the info 99Bluz28. Got your PM....this is definitely an option.
Ideally I'd prefer to go with the Hooker aerochamber however I'm not sure how to work around the 3-bolt flange issue. I guess a good muffler shop could cut the flange off, use a coupler to connect the intermediate pipe to the muffler and then weld it all together....just curious to see if anyone has gone this route.

Swapping in a $100-$200 muffler would be the preferred fix. Right now I see that the Dynomax muffler is an option and would be an improvement, just waiting to see if anyone has pulled this off with the Hooker Aerochamber (really like the sound).

Did you just cut the flange off and weld it together?
