Default Thoughts on ebay waterpumps?

Here's a list of the water pumps I found on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...pump&_osacat=0

I'm interested in the top 2 water pumps the OAW and the PRW pumps. Anyone have any opinions on buying one of these? I just need a new water pump because I'm doing a full engine rebuild and I don't want to put any **** old parts back on it, let alone shitty parts in general. Let me know what you think.

Gonna have almost 600 at the crank after the engine comes back. And a little over 525 to the wheels.

I was wondering about this....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Edelbrock-88...#ht_2682wt_760

.....If it actually flows coolant through the system "faster" than it would be an improvement and it would definitely help to run cooler. But how do we really know if they do.....????

And if they do.....having a larger capacity radiator (ie: be cool) would really add to the over-all cooler temps.......

....But also....I still have my factory original 1998 water pump.....its been on my 427ci stroker eng for 10+ years......my engine runs cooler than any other engine I know of....

Any decently made pump will be fine. I mean how long do you expect a waterpump to last? Forever? Not gonna happen, even with an OEM one.

Unless you get an electric pump I would think all mechanical ones will flow the same, I would just buy one in good shape from classifieds...oem has good quality...good luck

Looks like a lot of people have bought the OAW pump. FWIW, I would rock that pump for the price.

I'd just buy a from what ever parts store is most convenient for you. Autozone, Advanced Auto, O'Reillys, they'll all about $140 with a lifetime warranty.

And whenever possible use the later year t-stats...the so-called 2-piece ones. They flow better than the older style...so-called 1-piece t-stats.

The 2-piece one where the t-stat is not snapped into the t-stat housing.......flows coolant MUCH faster out of the hot engine/heads and into the radiator.....when the t-stat opens.

Took your advice. Bought a duralast water pump for about 140 and got a 25 dollar giftcard for buying online. I'll take a lifetime warranty (even though they will probably still try and screw me over saying its not covered) over saving 40 bucks. Thanks for the good advice.
