full length headers would be the way to go but you have him already.
Don't be fooled 3s have some nice launches being a TT v6 and awd but you will catch him down the track they don't have are top end so just crusie by and enjoy the win

Not to knock on you, but your friend being a "pussfag" is probably a good thing. Street racing is not only going to put yourselves in danger, but others aswell. Especially for two 18 year olds with <2 years of driving experience. Taking it to the track is the smartest thing you can do. On the topic more, I think you got him pretty easily. But do some research.

While I agree with everyone else that you should beat him no problem right now, how long is it until you turn 18? Keep in mind that gives him time to make his car faster too lol.

This will give you the most ET for the buck without a doubt. A tuned, stalled auto on ET street radials will bust mid 12s all day long. I know of an anniversary SS with nothing but a tune that has gone a best of 12.72 in the 1/4 on street tires. My cousin ran 12.30s with LTs, lid, and stall on the stock tune...

Best advice so far. Get a cheap used lid and do a basic tune-up. Replace the spark plugs, air and fuel filters, clean the MAF and inspect everything else - makle sure the engine runs as it should before racing anybody. And if you can afford it replace the rear tires with some Nitto drag radials or at least some decent street tires.

I had a 1991 3000GT VR4, the same car as your friends. I put a CAI, boost and fuel controller on mine and ran a 13.8 in the 1/4 here in Florida. He really needs to know how to launch his car to beat your in stock form. Being that you have an automatic, it takes out some possibility of error for you.
