Your buddy probably has downpipes, not headers. Turbo guys leave the manifold/headers alone until its time for a turbo upgrade. If he has upped his boost then you'd be in trouble. Lets hope somethings wrong with it to put you in favor.

These cars are boats. I had a 3k and i sold it to get a Cobalt ss. With a 2.9 and bolt ons i was still pulling a car on him from a 40. He had Full exhaust 4inch catback, intake, mbc.

Just race him. If you loose add a lid and beat him. easy as that.

Dodge Stealth = Mitsubishi 3000GT. Same car.
Eagle Talon = Mitsubishi Eclipse = Plymouth Laser*. Same car.

*1st generation only

The Mitsubishi GTO is a sports car built by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors between 1990 and 2001. In most export markets it was rebadged as a Mitsubishi 3000GT. It was also sold by Chrysler in North America as a Dodge Stealth captive import from the 1991 to 1996 model years with only minor detail/appearance differences, mechanically the two cars were identical.

You said I took the cake soooo.

Diamond-Star Motors (commonly abbreviated to DSM) was an automobile-manufacturing joint venture between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation
Anyway the talon and Eclipse had the same engine and drivetrain as did the Stealth tt and 3000gt VR4, So to call a stealth a domestic and a mitsu a import is retarted. They are exactly the same minus a Dodge badge and the body style.

Yes they are, but if driven right can be fast

I realized the power of these cars when I decided to make a Civic SI look stupid on the freeway at 3:00AM.
My 3000gt VR4 was a 1991 so it had a 5-speed manual. here were my shift points:
1st to second at 45mph
2nd to 3rd at 80mph
3rd to 4th at 120
I hit 145 in 4th with 1000rpm before redline and it was still pulling hard so I let off.

I would love to have one again, they are amazing cars but expensive. I had about $15,000 into mine and had around 450hp.

They are unique and can be fast with $5,000-$10,000+ into it. Of course a big problem with the DSM era cars was reliability and maintenance. That was the deciding factor for me when I was looking at VR4's.

So true, after I upgraded my turbos and spent all that money, the car lasted about 5,000 miles. I blew a piston at about 26#'s of boost, lol should have gone easier on it.
