Default H/C/I and headers install question

I currently have my new cam put in and am attempting to get my motors mounts back in. Passenger side is a PITA. Gonna give it another go Sunday. My question is what to do next, most people seem to put heads on first then headers. It seems to me would be easier to get the header in place first and then install the heads and then bolt up the headers. This is my first install so maybe im missing something, just seems like it would be really easy to get the headers in now and then the heads on. the headers are TSP 1 7/8 which i have heard can be difficult to get in

If you set the headers in first it can make it a pain to get to the head bolts. You can give it a try, just pull the headers back out if they get in the way.

I would do the heads first, also if its your first time there are alot of good write ups on tech, follow those, and if you have any questions just ask, we have all been where you are before so there is no shame in asking for help, and if ya get frustrated walk away for a bit, that is my biggest rule lol

It was going to be impossible to torque my head bolts with the headers in. I.have the same headers the oil filter and oil pan bolt have to be out for driver side header to go in. At one certain angle you can tap the header bottom side i used palm of my hand and it went in..

I'm doing a heads and cam right now and I just moved the headers to the side and got the heads off no problem. If I can get em off then they'll go back on. I would love to tell you for sure but I got called to work in the middle of it. I'm also going to put in my stall because with the heads and intake off I can reach that PITA top bell housing bolt pretty easy
