Default LS6 intake repair near MAP w/pics

So I picked up this damaged LS6 intake, and will bu undertaking the repair myself. I'd appreciate any advice.

Here's the damage. Also, this is why you can't remove the rear MAP sensor insert that has the orange o-ring. As you can see there's tabs that snap it into place once it's pushed into the rear of the intake,. You'd have to compress them from insode the manifold in order to remove it.

Since I'd never seen pictures of one removed I figured I'd post up some pics.

Here the 2 broken pieces are set in place exactly where they will be once the repair is complete. Of course the MAP port will be reinserted into the manifold then. This is what it'd look like if you were looking into the throttle body opening at the MAP port.

Here's what I plan on using for the repair. It's called Bond-It 7050 and should work well. I ordered some but said it'd be 2 weeks.

I would like to see results as well, we have seen a few repaired with both by plastic welding and also jb weld. Should be interesting to see it fixed with that epoxy. How did you come across that Bond-It stuff anyway?

i dont believe the port is available separate from the manifold from GM.....you have to be careful on plastic bonding.....use the right glue/epoxy for the specific plastic....i did my door panels with JB weld and after it dried it slid off like butter from a teflon pan....i ended up using 3M bumper epoxy

I'd plastic weld it with a soldering pen if it was me. I did two huge cracks in 4wheeler plastics a year or two ago and it has held up great.

You might want to check out this thread on bonding plastic intakes.

I was googling my *** off one day at work looking for stuff like "plastic epoxy" "nylon epoxy." Eventually I came across this stuff. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it hold up. Of course, plastic welding is plan B.

I'm first going to bond 2 pieces of a scrap intake, then stress the hell out of it just to get an idea of it's bonding strength.

My biggest concern is the amount of force it'll take to reinsert the MAP port into the intake once the pieces are glued back in place. Those tabs on it aren't very flexible since that port was obviously never meant to be removed.

Can anyone else confirm whether or not the MAP port/insert is available?

The Bond-It 7050 says it's used for plastics and nylon so I'm confidant it'll work, but we'll see!

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can get it separate either. I will try and check into it today though.

I definitely dont show it separate, and after calling our local distributor, they cant seem to find a part number either. So looks like its a whole intake or nothing, unfortunately... Although I will try a few other sources to see.

Well I got the Bond-It adhesive a while ago, just been busy with other vehicle projects.

I walk past this intake 30X a day so trust me, I haven't forgotten about it!
