How big is the TB opening on a LS6 intake itself?
I was looking into buying a ported throttle body for my newly aquired ls6 intake but had a question about it. How big is the actual opening to the intake? I would guess that putting a throttle body on the intake with a larger opening than the intake itself would be pointless. Am I wrong or do I not quiet understand something? Also, with a factory bellows, MAF, and SLP lid, do I need to upgrade those or are they not a restriction? I was looking into getting a different lid and a ZO6 MAF. Thanks for the help guys. I tried searching but didn't come up with the exact answer I'm looking for. Thanks for the help guys.

The ported TB opening will still be the same as it was, the main point is to remove material before the blade, lighten the blade and make sure the Tb opens all the way. The stock LS6 inlet is 75mm

Cool. Thanks guys and I have no intention to upgrade to anything else. I'm not paying the price for a FAST. I'd rather use that money to buy some SBC, LCA, PHB, and get my windows tinted for the same dollar figure if not less. Thanks for all the advice though. I've been looking for a while now and trying to find someone selling a factory throttle body that has been ported with a nice quality to it seems hard to find.

yes sir, i got a quote for $350
or you can buy one brand new already converted for $799

I've seen dyno comparisons in person between the tpis vs a fast 90/90 and the numbers were dead even, but the ls6 always had more torque for some reason. so for about 650$ (used ls6 plus 90mm conversion labor) I cant get myself to buy a fast 92 or 90 for that price. Gm perfected that intake runner wise, the only advantage a fast has is the fact you can still mamofy it.. but how much is it to port a fast intake again? 350$ +/-? idk, but for my goals the 90mm ls6 is perfect for my needs.
