My truck and car both do it with stock tunes and nothing deleted. About a 200-300 rpm difference when rolling as opposed to being stopped.. I thought it was normal.

that is normal. It's to help prevent stalling during braking.

I don't want to come off like a douche, its very hard to express things correctly via text, but isn't that exactly what the OP from 2012 was experiencing? Why did no one say its normal then?

200-300 is normal. Not coming across like a douche at all. I idle at 900 and expect to coast to a stop at 1200. 1600 is hanging.

when i first start my car it idles around 1500 and slowly comes down. i figured that was normal. i idle at 800 rpms. i usually will let it get the idle down to 800 before i leave. now if i dont wait if i push the clutch in and start rolling out the drive, when if i push the clutch in to stop the rpms will shoot back up to 1500 and sometimes to 2000 until i come to a complete stop. same with normal driving i will be cruising and come to a light and push the clutch in to stop and the rpms shoot up to 1500 rpms sometimes more sometimes less and will sit there till i come to a complete stop then goes right back to 800.

My truck does that in the cold. I'm pretty sure its to get it up to temp quicker.

Edit: the cold start thing it does anyway

My LS2 swap is doing the same thing. The revs will jump up to 2000 when I push in the clutch and hang there for 1-2 seconds before slowing back down to idle??

I have checked everywhere for vacuum leaks without finding anything. My tuner says it isn't the tune, but Im not so sure. I can't figure out why mechanically it would idle and jump up to 2k RPM without actually doing anything but pushing in the clutch, putting it into gear, but not moving at all.

Any help on the would be greatly appreciated.

i did a ecm reset on mine and it seemed to help a little. ive read that the line going to the throttle body can sometimes have vacumme leaks
