Just trying to find the best performing maf and have seen the SLP make more then the stocker with ported ends. Anything new out that might be better?
what about Pro-M anyone ever dyno after putting one of these on?

We offer the Granatelli & the SLP 85mm maf's for our 85mm lids. TSP is the only company that offers 85mm lids. Currently we stock both black & C.F. 85 lids & they are on special in the sponsors section!

Looking at my PCM MAF table with HPTuners it shows
MAF frequency axis going out through 12000Hz on my
'01 F-body. So that means no prob using the Delphi
85mm. Truck MAF table for screened, Z06 table for
descreened should get you pretty durn close. As for
the aftermarket companies who don't bother to provide
their customers a valid MAF table to tune with, I say
fuzzy yarbles to ya, Mr. G. and Mr. S. Dirt cheap Delphi
will flow as well and is a known quantity. No offense to
our fine sponsors, who only can deliver what is made.
Perhaps some of them might do good business if they
had Z06 MAFs for sale kitted up.

I just bought one of the SLP's for my stroker and from the research that I've done it seems that as long as you get it tuned/and or have a maft/autotap to make sure your not too lean the SLP 85mm is ok. It seems that any 85mm MAF is ok for our cars given that you are getting LS1edit. This is definatly a touchy question and I would say if you are not getting it tuned then keep the stocker.

When my stock MAF went out on me at 11,000 miles, Mikey from Rapid Motorsports told me to replace it with the Pace Performance Parts LS6 85mm MAF. So far it's worked great. My car was tuned with it on.

thanks
looks like its back to the slp 85mm
I had it before and it worked great no problems
so is there a difference between the SLP 85mm and Pace 85 LS6 ? Same?
I had the SLP that was for the 2001 LS1's before
and I just got a 85mm lid from you guys at TSP cant wait to finally put all this stuff together

I saw a picture of a Pace MAF that shows it being
a descreened Delphi 85mm with a resistor, same
idea as the SLP (though SLP leaves the screen in).
Don't know whether they use the same or different
resistor value. But to get something that matches
the stock calibration within a few percent, there
is a pretty narrow range of resistor value options.
I would stick with the one you've got, for now; if
you were getting tuned I would suggest removing
the resistor and having the tuner (or you, if you
is him) substitute a truck MAF table into your
PCM calibration file. I haven't found yet how well
the SLP vs stock lines up all across the airflow
band; only that WOT and LTFTs seem "close
enough". But the MAF table that GM thinks is
right for the base unit has got to be a better
fit than the table for another MAF against the
85mm and resistor tacked on.
Not quite clear on your situation but, if you
have to go bu a new MAF, I would go buy a
factory new Z06 off gmpartsdirect and scrounge
up a MAF table to match (off the LS1Tuning or
HPTuners boards or right here). You'll come out a
bit cheaper than any aftermarket one, and it'll be
an unmolested virgin of known good character.
What more could a sick freak want?

thats good to know. I have my car sitting in the garage with out a motor right now and am in the process of having the 410ci built. So I decided to sell some old parts and buy almost everything brand new. So slp can be retuned with LS1 edit right? Once I get the rest of my parts lifters, rockers, maf, injectors, ported TB and the motor together its off to go get dyno tuned with LS1 edit.
So maybe the slp will be best for now
