Default 4.8/5.3 with L92/LS3 setup...

What do you guys think about putting L92 Heads and LS3 intake on a 4.8/5.3. Would it be a waste of time? With the smaller displacement I'd imagine they would be some high revving monsters.

Anyone done this? I'm curious to see what power it makes. Reminds me almost of old Boss 302 or Cleveland 351 4v heads.. big head on a small motor, let it rip!

Bingo... 4" required for this top end. It is why you see so many 6.0s running them and no 5.7s.

You could always throw on a Trailblazer SS intake on the 4.8/5.3 and some 243s.

Why not a hybrid monster.. If a 5.3 and 5.7 use same crank, and 5.3 and 4.8 use some bore.. why not stuff a 4.8 crank in a 5.7 block and bore it to accomodate. Peak power would be at something insane..

The reason I ask is for people who want to build something more than a flat out 1/4 car.. high revving motors cater to road course racing where you can row through the gears and turn some rpm.. I'd like to see how high one of these could actually go before the cost effectiveness isn't worth it.

Cant bore a 4.8 or 5.3 over 3.905"...cant bore an aluminum 5.7 over 3.910...Thats why...you must use a 6.0L block of some kind at the minimum to run L92/LS3 heads.
