What about the oil cap now. From the looks of it the coil would hit the fill cap? I have a set on mine and just bought new coils.

We re-fabricated them to put the bracket on more of an angle as well as the coil, (not much more from the original) and the clearance is no issue. Putting the coils on a little bit more of an angle for sure changed the attitude of the design. I'll have pictures up tomorrow afternoon of the progress.

Will these new valve covers clear L92/LS3 rockers?

Yea they should. I have a YT roller rockers on my LS1, i just used the YT extra thick valve cover gaskets in case there was any clearance issues.

cool valve covers but wouldn't this thread be an appearance thread and not a external engine performance thread?

My vote is to leave it where it is.

What a great and smart way to not have to upgrade the coils in order to use the sharp looking Holley valve covers.

Way to go man!!

Awesome...I was just in Somerset Y for the Somernite Power Cruise and saw Hollley there with these valve covers.

And my luck I have LS1 coils so I was pissed I couldn't get them. I planned to relocate my coils and then came across these VC's. I thought to make a bracket as well.

Good to know someone has done it. Looks great. I'm just OCD so I'm not too keen on how the left edge of the bracket and left edge of the coil pack is not parallel.

Don't really like the look of the ls1 coils so think I may change to the truck coils or similar

Thanks for the comments guys, the final set of brackets are coming along great, I'm OCD on the measurements too thats why I have gone through about 4 sets.lol. The first pictures were only rough drafts, I will have pics soon of the final result.

Yeah the first set was not perfect by any chance, I'm using a bandsaw to cut them so there are some flaws. I did find a machine shop that can cut them precise to exact measurements, also no issue with the oil cap clearance. Stock plug wires - coils - harness - can all be used.

@ITSQUIK

Thanks a lot bro, I'll have more pics up soon. These brackets are not perfect because I don't have the best tools, but the machine shop down the road looks interested in helping.

Has GormanRacing made any progress with these brackets or has anyone else came up with a solution to mounting the ls1 coils onto these valve covers?

Out of sheer curiosity, why can't we just bolt the coil directly to the VC? I understand the bolt spacing... Any opposition to just using one bolt?

I've been running my ls1 coils with just one coil for about 18 months now with no issue, not even a bolt getting loose
