TSP ORY fitment issues
I had my y pipe installed at a professional exhaust shop (minute muffler.) I don't know if they welded the tubes at the wrong angle (not sure how this could be possible as there are only so many ways you can do it while still having the y pipe line up with the collector..
My TSP y pipe rubs and bangs against my factory torque arm! I have Pacesetter longtubes to TSP ORY to stock catback. How do I fix this? The shop managed to get about a 1/4 inch of clearance between them but it still bangs against the floor pan when launching.
Does the Mufflex hanger really cure this?
I've wasted so much time & money trying to fix this stupid issue.
I used the TSP ory with eBay specials. Neither the headers nor Y were a real pain to get in or match up. We did have to trim a bit off of a section of the Y, and muscle it together. Really only had a couple little problems. One was the clamps provided. They didn't look like Dr Wighams clamps with the dual tightening bolts. Mine only had one bolt and wouldn't tighten anything. Two (not necessarily TSPs Y fault) was we couldn't get things to line up nicely and had to trim the Y and bend the catbacks tails. I still need to get to a shop and have everything adjusted and hopefully welded so I can do away with the crappy clamps I had to use just to get out of my friends shop.
Also, The clamps TSP provided me were two bolt "step" clamps, mild steel. I just went to Pep boys or O'reilley's and got stainless 3" exhaust band clamps. They're like 10.99 each. The good thing about them is they are smooth with no hump... till you put the impact to them.
There's a reason they're called "Accuseal"
As for the clamps... they left a bit to be desired. While the band clamps are much better than the old guillotine u-bolt style, I needed to purchase a Torc-Tite clamp for the passenger side as the clamp just would not snug that connection up. I am of the opinion that TSP would be better served to notch the OD pipes the same way the factory I-pipe is notched so that it can easily clamp down.
Also, I had to reuse the factory I-pipe clamp as it is 2.75" -- TSP only sent 3" clamps. Not everyone may have the same luck in getting the factory clamp off like I did, though.

Does your TSP ORY come as close to the factory torque arm as mine? I don't see what I could have done different with the install to improve the clearance
I've ordered the mufflex y pipe bushing hanger..praying that it fixes this issue. The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

Not sure yet. I just put them on the other day but haven't driven the car. I'll know tomorrow night after taking it out to a cruise in. They're vinyl, so I'm hoping they hold up for a bit, especially since I only put about 2k-3k miles on each year.
