Default Poly motor mount orientation

Was workin on installing my poly MM this afternoon and I could get the passenger side in no problem, but I cannot get the driverside to come close to lining up (the through bolt). I am a complete hole off and spend the last 2 hours jacking the motor up and down and prying side to side with no luck. Did some searching and found the sticky with poly mm and he said their is a correct orientation, I thought I put the new polys with the longer snout facing tward the front of the car and the **** are in the up. I am running a spohn K member. Any help is greatly appreciated!

When I did mine, i ended up taking the bolt ends to a grinder making them to a point, it then took a lot of prying, pushing, pulling, and cussing to get it in. It will work better if you have someone helping you while you try to get the bolts started. You may even run a screw driver through the other end to help you get the bolt started... good luck man, it is a real pita

I got the passenger side in no problem and was like wtf people are saying it takes 10+ hours to do these? Well after fighting the driverside for 2 hours the closest i was able to come was putting a screwdriver in the front side i had the old mounts that were shot in the old K i highly doubt my K is bent/bowed but is it possible?

did you remove the pedestal.... bolt the MM to the pedestal and then bolt the pedestal to the K?

SPOHN K MEMBER

All is well now, after some convincing with the bfh, and a couple of ratchet straps and a thumb that is half cut off they are in. Thanks for the tips fellas. 4.5-5.25 hours for MM and headers start to finish aint too bad...

the spohn K uses the stock pedestal or their lightweight pedestal......which i have.......unlike the UMI K which has the pedestal built in

taking my advice would have saved you hrs of frustration

I do apoligize for being an *** hat, It was late when i posted and the words just came out of my mouth.

Apparently my k member isnt what you think it is... So While his suggestion was very good it did not apply. Is their any different models for spohn K members? I purchased it from a member here and he told me it was spohn k member so that is what i am calling it.



Again I do apoligize for being a dick I did not mean to be that way, Lets turn this thread around and figure out what K member I have so I dont misslead any fellow members so they know exactly what i have to deal with

looks just like my UMI K and I had a helluva fight with the driverside as well. Loosen the K-member bolts(body) on both sides, loosen the passenger side mount as well and keep fighting!

They all copy each other, could be a spohn, but looks like my UMI. In any event I fought the driverside, it was a ************! I used ratcheting straps and every foul word in the book. I am serious about the k-member bolts, had to loosen them quite a bit, but I finally got it. Good luck brother..

OK. So can we assume its a UMI K member? Does everybody agree on that?

Yes ratchet straps and my 48" snapon prybar were my best friends. I got the passenger side in no problem tried to do the driverside and it fought me for an hour so i took a break, fought it some more and took the passenger side out and got the driverside in so i could fight the passenger side since it had more room. ended up taking the trans mount off as well but i finnal got it and everything is back in place.
