Default Ls1 to ls3

I have a high mileage ls1 that runs great but when it goes I want to go to a forged 427ls3. What mods can I do to the Ls1 that will transfer over to the ls3?

I did a gen lll cast 6.0 bored to equal 6.2. The top end is ls3 (heads intake). This is the cheapest way to get an ls3. Even stronger due to the iron block. The bottom end shares every part with your ls1 these are the parts that you could transfer over. This is also the easiest way. You would probably spend double on the "true" ls3 swap just making everything work and connect. See above post. Even using the gen lll block requires a fair amount of modifying and converting.

My advice is save money for what you want in your future motor and if your money is burning a hole in your pocket then upgrade tranny, rear end, suspension, exhaust etc.

Check out schwanke engines for your future swap. Builds awesome motors and is always willing and more importantly, available to talk to you. Dont be afraid if every part he uses doesn't sound like it came off of somebodys all time wish list. Mine has had the **** beat out of it for about 15k miles and it likes it.
