You are going to need a single throttle cable. I picked up one in the for sale section, do a search.

You need a 98-99 non-TCS, non-cruise throttle cable. Remove everything and replace the new cable from pedal to TB.

I did this a few months ago. I bought a throttle cable for a non cruise control car from the local Gm dealer. Paid around 35 bucks for it.

Pretty sure that's separate. You can delete on or the other or both. My way above deletes both because I think the TCS is useless anyway.

I apologize for bringing this back from the dead, but from my search results, this had the most relevant information.
I have been cleaning up my engine bay by deleting the stuff I never use,and I'm considering deleting the cruise control, but I kinda want to keep the traction control.
If I use the single throttle cable method, can I be rid of the black box,or does the traction control operate through that as well?

Traction control is near the battery, and cruise is down by the driver suspension. Separate cable for each. TCS has two cables: Pedal>TCS unit>Engine. Cruise should only have a single cable from the module to the engine. Crap my memory is fogging, so maybe someone can confirm.

I thought it was on the passenger side, that's where the cable from the tb leads to. Altogether,3 wires/cables are attached to that box.
???

On my 2000 traction control and cruise all T together into the box next to the battery. My 02 didn't come with tcs so I have two completely different cables. Unless they're a way to modify the box at the battery to remove the cruise cable the only way I see of doing it is to remove both and go with a single cable.

^^Yeah my TCS had 3 cables as well. Non-TCS cars had the cruise cable going straight to the TB I believe.
