Default Decisions, decisions...

Well I'm having a hard time making up my mind as to what to do first. I have an 01 Firebird Formula bone stock with 118K miles. Right now it's my DD and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've had the car since June and have been creeping around here since May trying to soak up all the info I can! For Christmas I am going to have about $600 to spend on the car. I've been thinking of doing TD dumped before the rear axle with a cat delete and a new air intake. However, in my searching the exhaust threads, I've seen a lot of you suggest getting headers before TD or cat back. I was under the impression that headers were out of my budget but then I found the BBK LTs with Y pipe on Jegs for $400. So here's my options, TD and cat delete for about $300 or headers and cat delete and save the TDs for next time?

Save until you can get Texas speed 1 7/8" longtubes and some kind of true duals done at one time. Preferably with a mail order tune to go along with them to see the most gain and make sure you don't have a bunch of check engine light throwing codes

pacesetters are also cheap. a good single 3" pipe running back will be good till around 450-500 hp, with headers, and quieter than td's. my first mod was a short shifter, hated slamming my knuckles into the a/c every time i went into 3rd... best bang for the buck mod u can do for a DD

Wow! Texas Speed & Performance has some good prices. I still would like to split up the header and exhaust installs as I promised my wife I wouldn't spend too much on mods until the car is paid off in three years. Why oh why did I ever make that promise?! Sorry I forgot to mention that my car is an A4. But I bet that would be annoying. And I don't plan on going over 400 rwhp, I know I know, that's what they all say lol. I'm more interested in quality than quantity when it comes to exhaust sound. I just want deep growl with no rasp and louder than stock. I've always loved the way Roush mustangs sound. Never been a huge Mustclang fan but... Thanks for the replies fellers!
