Default dmh cutout issue

i currently purchased a DMH 3" cutout from ws6store.com for my trans am. i installed it last week. i went to use it today and it didn't open so i drove home to jack the car up and figure out the issue. when i crawled under the car i saw the motor disconnected from the cutout and hanging over the exhaust, which obviously then led to the harness being melted. this is my first dmh cutout (i have owned a few QTP's before this one), but read highly of DMH on ls1tech.com so decided to give it a shot.

how do i go about resolving this issue? i went to dmh website and sent them an email but have yet to receive a response.

You probably won't get it resolved.

Yeah they are supposed to have pretty good quality stuff, which I think they do. But its impossible to get a hold of them for anything. Good luck getting a warranty work done because of that.

i think i am just going to tear it apart and check it out. just have to pick up some new drill bits to drill out the rivets.

i had to call him several times before he answered the phone. there is only one person working there and he does all the machining and building so he is super busy. as soon as i finally got him to answer the phone he was very helpful and sent me a new gearbox and motor assy for free.

he did actually email me back today and asked me to send it in to him. he did not include an address though...can anyone confirm that the address on the website is the correct address to ship the cutout to.? i dont want to ship to the wrong address and make it take any longer than it should.

i scraped once on a speed bump. but the motor is mounted on the side so i dont see why that would make the motor fall off.
