Default 3.5 dual to 5 single bullet

I have a lsx swapped fox with kooks 1 7/8-3.5 long tubes and have been toying with the idea of y'ing them into a single 5 in bullet muffler. The bullet is only 6 inches around and i have room to tuck it up tight under the car. It should have a scavenging effect like a x pipe I would think and would sound different than just dual bullets. Anyone try anything like this?

How do you figure that? The pulses are still entering the same pipe and colliding.

Id probably use something like Flowmasters Scavenger Y-Collector that comes together at very little angle so they will come together smoothly

What do you think happens in an x pipe? Do the exhaust pulses not collide with eachother while sharing the same space?

It was my understanding that the pulses do not actually cross the merge. A low pressure area is created as the pulse passes the merge which decreases the resistence for subsequent pulses. Even if they were to cross the merge, they are being seperated, and not stacking in one pipe. If I am significantly wrong, I am happy to be educated. However, if this is not the case there would be zero advantage to a X setup as compared to a Y, and that has been proven to not be the case.
