bad balancer destroy accessory
bad balancer destroy accessory I would just like to clear this up. Can a Wobbling harmonic balancer destroy accessory's. i.e cause a water pump bearing to get eaten up, cause power steering pump bearing to make noise.
Don't believe so. but I put an aftermarket on to replace and blew it out. believe caused by the radical cam and a bent snout. the bent crank was the cause not the balancer. the twinkie that changed the cam (not me) reused the bolt and spun out. Hello engine rebuild. You have a tensioner that should handle the slack and the tension unless you have belts that are too tight. That was my story. did blow the bearing in the water pump but I don't have the steering pump problem.
The only thing that connects the balancer and other accessories is the belt, but wobbling would not be transferred in a harmful manner that I could imagine.
It can and and will destroy your engine though!
