Default 2000 Z28 muffler to heat shield rattle

I'm getting an exhaust rattle on my 2000 z28, where the muffler is striking the heat shield. It's a little contact point, I can see the wear mark. What can be done to stop it.

Could the muffler be heated with a little propane torch and given a few wacks to create a corrective dent?

As far as I know it is an oem exhaust. Was was rear ended many years ago before I bought it.

Thanks.

The heat shields are as thin as an index card - depending on where it is, you could probably bend it by hand or tap it lightly with a hammer
