Ok got the headers in. i did not have to take out the steering shaft, grind, or do anything special to get them in. Just laid on my back under the car for a minute trying to figure out the best way to turn them up into the car. They just slid right up into place. got up top and put the gasket in and bolted them up. Those back bolts on the passenger side are a real PITA. Took me about an hour to get the back one in by using a ratchet wrench moving it back two clicks at a time lol. Now i just have to get my 02 extensions in, coil packs on, plugs, wires and air/egr hooked back up. would like to delete it but i cant find a good write up to do it where i feel comfortable. i know there is some removal of hoses and capping off in the back of the intake and i just don't know what to do. here is a picture each side and what i have left to do. Engine bay need some cleaning up as well!

Well I don't want to Put it back on lol I already have the egr removed on the passenger side and just need to get my block off plates and a 1 3/8" freeze plug for the top of the intake. For the AIR on the drivers side I need a block off plate and a vacuum plug for the back of the intake correct?

Ended up gapping my plugs to .055. Hope this does good. put some msd wires on as well. Got everything back in tonight and am getting super excited i am about done. i ended up deleting the egr and air. did not know much about removing it but from a little that i had read. i plugged up the little spot on the back of the intake, got a freeze plug from autozone for the front, and removed all the necessary hoses and parts. left the air pump in for now and just cut the hoses to get them out of the way. i am going to order my block off plates and 02 extensions tonight and hopefully get them real quick so i can start my beast back up. itll just be open headers for about a week but it wont be driven until i take it to the exhaust shop to have the xpipe put on. Wish me luck on my first start that there is no leaks or anything that could go wrong. Very proud of myself on doing all this work alone as i have never even changed the oil on a car before. LOL This is the first mechanic work i have done in my life and i want to thank everyone on ls1tech that has helped me out. here are some pictures of it almost done.

So i was just to anxious to wait for my block off plates and o2 extensions to come in so i did the little coin trick with the stock egr and air plates so i could start her up. Needless to say i got instant WOOD! The car had not been started in about two weeks and the temperature here is in the low 20's and has been cold for a while so my first start was a little bit of rough idling. i let it set for a minute and here is a second start up. Purred like a kitten this time!! or better yet screamed!!!

If you drive with open headers you need about 16-18 " of pipe beyound the o2' so thet they do not tase open/fresh air,I run open 1/2 time ,I have elec cutouts in both the first bends of the y pipe at this point it is a stright shot out and this gives me about
18" past the 02' so they get a correct reading, my car rid up much faster when open as when open I hit the limeter ( 6800) on the 2-3 shift unless I change the shift point down from 6400 to 6100 , with closed I never hit the limeter with shift point @6400
