98-99 slp lid on an 01
I bought a 98-99 air lid, I have an 01 and don't not have the time to gut the air system.
What are my options regarding the air hose and connecting to the lid?
Can I buy the connector from slp? I don't want to really use a filter on the hose because it doesn't look clean.

Oh yeah sorry man, I was thinking of deleting the AIR like I did, not keeping it. So are you saying the lid you have for an earlier car isn't equipped with an AIR tube hole? I thought they all had AIR, but I could easily be wrong, I don't know a whole lot of the fine details about these cars year to year.

Yeah the SLP lid i bought has the hole for AIR, but it did not come with the connectors to hook it up, so it would be ideally for a 98-00.
SLP does sell the hardware(elbow connector and hose) to connect to the stock air tube but it is $35 and didnt know if there was another way to connect it or something.
Also i took a couple pictures of the filter showing through the back of the lid. I messed around with the lid and it appears to be in place so im not sure why i can still see the filter

Did you buy this lid from slp? I ask for a couple reasons. 1 if you did they come with all the hardware you need, and 2, the plastic weld on that lid looks like ****, kinda like it does on my whisper lid...
My slp lid has superb build quality...my whisper feels cheap, and has crappy plastic welds like that one, but i was limited as its on my v6..

just slide the hose into the hole? As for the filter, check your intake bellows to make sure it is pushed all of the way on. If it is loosen the bolts to the rad cover to move the lower forward away from the engine and that should close the gap.

I'd just get a gromit and a plastic pcv connector and hook it up that way. The "help!" Section at auto zone or whatever usually has a good selection of this kind of stuff.
As far as the air filter, just buy an ACDelco filter with the black rubber seal and **** can the fram with the orange.

you could put a filter on the intake hose for the air pump down under the car where it cant be seen to keep the clean look and plug the hole in the side of the lid if youre dead set on keeping the air system

I don't know anything about whats needed to pass emissions but if you want the clean look why not just delete the AIR all together. You don't get any codes from deleteing the air system or at least I didn't on 3 Fbodys. 2 2000s and a 02. EGR however is another story.
