Default Throttle Cable issues

Hi everyone,

I made a thread in the General Maintenance section but not getting anything...
Figured I'd try here next.

So my throttle cable plastic tabs recently broke and I'm trying to find a way to get it setup with being able to keep both the TCS & Cruise Control.

I wanted to see what alternatives I had like aftermarket or universal.

I have a 99 with the part discontinued...

Which tabs, on the cable length adjuster or where it attaches to the mount bracket before the TB cam?

The tabs where it attaches to the mounting bracket.

Sorry forgot to add that detail.

So if its the slotted part that's coming apart, then you'll either have to find a used one that's not broke, or get creative and modify you broken one so it'll stay in place.

Sorry, that's the same options I had several yrs ago when mine came apart, I just got lucky and found one on Ebay.
BTW, If I come up with any other possible options I'll let you know.

Yeah as a temporary solution, I'm going to super glue it all together.
It was just the left tab that broke off...

I've hopefully found a replacement one, do you know how easy it is to remove that cable portion from the TCS box?

Not hard at all, the assembly comes out without using any tools but your hands.

Awesome, I'll need to take it apart in a little bit when I get off work for sure.

I'll upload pics in a bit if I can too.

Well, I had to drive my car to work and saw the last tab had broken.

Everything seemed alright on the way TO work, but when I was leaving and got in the car, the moment I tapped the gas after putting it into drive it shot to 1100rpm and I had to limp her home that way...

Does anyone know of an alternative method to keep the TCS/Cruise Control?...

I'll switch to a 00-04 Throttle body and get a newer cable if I have to, but eventually those will be discontinued and out of stock too....

Anyone have any ideas? :\
